Pregnancy Yoga Helps Your Baby Grow

Did you know practicing yoga makes more room for your baby? In Sanskrit, the word ‘Yoga’ means union. It is a practice that helps you to unite the body, mind and spirit. When you are pregnant you have the lovely addition of uniting with your baby. This gives you the opportunity to truly understand the effects your actions and emotions have on others, in this case your child. Practicing while pregnant directly affects the baby’s wellbeing and ability to grow correctly. Using yoga to increase your flexibility in the abdomen and pelvis will allow more space within for your baby to grow and may prevent heartburn, as well as fetal growth restriction. Side stretches, spinal flexes and spinal twists are great because they strengthen and stretch these areas as well as improving spinal health and flexibility.
